I read that yesterday, struck me as a desperate attempt to find outrage based on some suppositions.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I'd be more surprised if they didn't have any at Lakenheath, given the clear role F15s have in air defence, which the article misses the fact F15E was the first plane capable of carrying the B61-12 and Lakenheath has had those for over 30 years.

I occasionally had to work in the Nuclear weapon storage area at Lakenheath in the 80's, it was difficult and a pain to get in and if you did not get the entry procedure correct they let you in the first gate but then wouldn't let you in through the next gate or out of the first. I agree with Stonojnr, I would be very surprised if they did actually remove all nuclear weapons from Lakenheath.

Well there is certainly no suitable container for nuclear weapon disposal at Bury recycling centre.

So that was one avenue for their removal closed.

Theyโ€™ll just dump it there anyway. Theyโ€™re not going to worry about the sort of people that use Bury recycling centre.

That's precisely what they WANT you to think.
